Teacher Leadership Specialist 

 

Job Description:

 The Teacher Leadership Specialist (TLS) is an extension of the Curriculum and Instruction Department and serves as a liaison to the school faculty. It is the responsibility of the TLS to work with district and school personnel to facilitate school, state, and district initiatives including, but not limited to attending and/or delivering professional development, modeling and observing classroom instruction, and providing feedback to teachers. The position entails proven excellence as a classroom teacher and curriculum leader with exemplary skills in organizing, developing, implementing and assessing instructional strategies to improve academic achievement in core content areas, problem solving skills, and use of modern technology for all students in the school. In addition, this person must have earned and strived to maintain the trust of the staff members while working as a member of the district curriculum team.

 

School and District Expectations:

The TLS will be assigned to a school based on the needs of the district. The TLS will be evaluated by the Principal. 

 

   Minimum Qualifications:

 

Salary:  According to North Carolina Salary Schedule for Teachers (10-month position)
